Typically, the best time to do the newborn photography session in Barcelona is in the first 10 days.
This way, we can capture all those characteristics so typical of a newborn: the peeling skin, the blister on their lips, the folded posture...
However, the priority is always that both baby and mother are feeling well after childbirth and that you are ready to enjoy the session.
I have photographed many older babies of all ages, so know that there's no perfect time, just the right time; and that is now.
What will your newborn photo session be like?
- A personalized experience from start to finish. Upon booking the baby photography session in Barcelona, I will send you a brief questionnaire to better understand your expectations and fulfill them.
- Guidelines for preparing the session. I will also send you a guide with advice so that the session runs smoothly.
- No added pressure. We will adapt to the baby’s needs at all time. You don’t have to worry about anything as we have many years of experience.
- Natural and timeless photos. In the photos, there won't be any elements that could distract attention from the most important thing: you and your baby. The goal is that in a few years, you look at your photos and are transported back to the emotion of those first days.
- Duration: Although the newborn photo session typically lasts about 2 hours, we will ask you to reserve the morning so that we can work calmly.
- Quick and easy booking process. You can book your newborn photo session online. Just leave your contact information and make a down payment to secure your spot.
During the booking process, you can see the different options of photographic collections I offer, but there's no rush. After seeing the photos, you can decide which collection you want to buy and pay the remaining amount. All collections include a specific number of digital photographs and a credit to spend on prints or products from the online store.

When is the best moment to do the newborn photo session?
Newborns are usually photographed in the first 10 days of life, especially to capture those constant changes. Babies are still small and sleepy, and look very similar to how they did at birth. Additionally, after three weeks, things like colic and baby acne can start to flare up, making it harder to settle the baby.
Where does the newborn photography session take place?
Las sesiones de fotografía newborn pueden hacerse tanto en mi estudio en Sarrià-Sant Gervasi (Barcelona), como a domicilio, para que el bebé esté en su entorno natural.
The sessions can take place in the studio, where we have everything needed for both the baby and parents to be comfortable, or in the comfort of your home. At my studio, we provide a changing table and maintain a warm environment, as newborns feel much more comfortable that way. We also have a very comfy sofa for parents to relax while enjoying tea, coffee, or water. The studio is located in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district.
How long does the newborn photo session last?
Sessions last about 2 hours as we go at the baby's pace. We will pause to feed the baby as many times as necessary, change diapers, or soothe them.
What if we can't assist our newborn photo session in the first ten days?
No worries. The most important thing is that the baby and the mother are well. If there have been complications in the postpartum period, we can wait as long as necessary. The photographs we take may be a bit different from what you had in mind, but my natural style allows the baby to be captured both asleep and awake. In any case, you will achieve beautiful, emotional, and authentic portraits.
What do I need to bring to my newborn baby photo session?
You won't need to bring anything more than the basics: diapers and a bottle if the baby uses one. Upon booking, you will receive a comprehensive guide with all the details to prepare for the session.
I have more children. Can they come to the newborn photo session?
Certainly! Siblings are always welcome and can participate in the newborn photo session. They can be present throughout the session or come only at the beginning or end. We have a small garden in the studio where they can play for a while to make it more enjoyable for them.
How do we schedule the newborn photo session if we don't know when the baby will be born?
During the online booking, I will ask for the expected due date to have an orientation. However, it's important to notify me on the day the baby is born (or the next day) to set a definite date for the session based on how everything has gone.
Can parents participate in the newborn photos?
Yes! Photos with parents are my favorites. I am excited to capture the bond with your baby and the joy and happiness you’re feeling.
What if I want photos of my baby a little bit older?
During the first year, babies change and grow enormously on a physical, cognitive, and emotional level. I offer special milestone sessions that are shorter and more affordable, designed to document your baby’s first year. You can book just one session or several throughout the year. The moments I most recommend are at 4 months, 8 months, and 12 months. These sessions can be booked after your newborn session or independently, even if you haven’t done one before. Yes, we have a special package for families that book both the maternity and newborn sessions.
