The first birthday of your son/daughter always brings a special thrill. It marks the end of a year full of firsts. Therefore, there's no better way to remember it than by photographing your baby with their first cake.

Every baby reacts differently to the cake. Some are fascinated by the texture and enjoy squashing it, others investigate by putting it in their mouths, and some discover that they don't like getting messy at all.

El primer cumpleaños de tu hijo/a siempre hace una ilusión especial. Marca el cierre de un año lleno de primeras veces. Por tanto, no hay mejor forma de recordarlo que fotografiándole con su primer pastel.

Cada bebé reacciona de forma distinta al pastel. Hay algunos que alucinan con la textura y disfrutan chafándolo, otros investigan llevándoselo a la boca y otros descubren que no les gusta nada mancharse.

The goal is to photograph your baby's unique reaction and obtain natural and authentic photos that reflect their personality at that moment.

True to my minimalist style and taking advantage of my all-white studio, there will be no props beyond the cake.

I always like to start the session with some family photos so that your baby can get comfortable with the space, and you can keep a memory of everyone together. I assure you that when your baby is older, the photos of all of you together will be the most special.

I will not only photograph your baby with the cake but also with you to capture your family bond at that moment.

At the end of the session, we will give them a little bath, which is usually the favorite part for most babies.

At that moment, the playful side of babies usually comes out, and we get some very funny photos.

What will your smash cake photo session be like?

  • A personalized experience from start to finish. Upon booking, I will send you a brief questionnaire to better understand your expectations and fulfill them.

  • Guidelines for preparing the session. I will also send you a guide with advice so that the session runs smoothly.

  • Natural photos without added pressure.. You don't need to have posing experience. I will make you feel comfortable at all times so you can be relaxed and natural.

  • Duration: The session lasts one hour approximately.
  • Quick and easy booking process. You can book online. Just leave your contact information and make a down payment to secure your spot.
Don’t worry! You won't have the pressure to decide now how many photos you want and in what format. You will do that once you have seen the photos!
During the booking process, you can see the different options of photographic collections I offer, but there's no rush. After seeing the photos, you can decide which collection you want to buy and pay the remaining amount. All collections include a specific number of digital photographs and a credit to spend on prints or products from the online store. Collections start at 280€ including cake.

smash the cake photo sessions

I will order the cake, and it’s included in the session price. Before the session, we will discuss how you want it, and you can customize it to your liking. Our trusted baker, Eli from Take a Cake Bcn, can accommodate any requirements: allergies, style, flavor, etc. Any leftover cake can be taken home.
The cake can be with or without sugar. Generally, one-year-old babies do not eat sugar. However, during the session, they don't eat much, and it's also nice to photograph their first reaction to eating something sweet.

It's impossible to know how your baby will react to the cake, but we can have some idea based on what they do at home. For example, if your baby is used to eating pieces of fruit or vegetables, either by hand or with a spoon, they will likely show the same interest in the cake. If they don't like getting dirty with sand at the park, they may not enjoy getting messy with the cake. If they don't like baths at home, they may not like them in the studio either. Therefore, this type of session may not always be suitable for all children. However, we can always adapt it by removing one part and replacing it with another or by doing a studio session without the cake.
When you confirm the booking, you will receive a guide for preparing the session where we will detail how to dress and other aspects. The idea is to have your baby wear little or light clothing. They can wear a birthday crown or not. In the studio, we have some from the brand Mon Petit Nicolas that you can use. If you want to buy or customize one, you can order it directly from their website.

Certainly! Although these sessions are known for being an original way to celebrate the first birthday, they can be done at any age.

Memories are the most valuable thing we have, and the celebration of the first year of life should be included in them.
